Modern medicine with beta blockers, cholesterol drugs, special diets and exercise won't help much to prevent a heart attack. When arteries become blocked, strokes, paralysis and death often occur. Surgical treatment for heart disease is not the best choice because it often leads to further physical or mental health problems.

Causes and Risk Factors of Heart Disease

The primary risk factors for the development of atherosclerotic heart disease are smoking, sedentary lifestyle, hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, and a genetic predisposition to the disease.
